Positive Education:

Nurturing positive thinking in education and stepping forward to holistic development: how to enable children to set goals for benefiting others from early age, establishing good relationship with others, and be persevering amid of adversity.

The school integrates strength and faithfulness to cultivate children's positive values towards learning from life experience. We worked with the Committee of Good Character Movement together that had filtrated the positive education program into school-based curriculum with the Good Character School Program which was launched in 2014-15.

From doing things well and feeling contented in education, teachers encourage children with rewards of good behaviours, teachers act as love givers and understand this culture which directs children be nurturing to grow positively in the future.

Let the whole school participates in promoting positive education from the two aspects of "School Culture" and "Learning and Teaching".

Let's learn, live and teach children by good examples which is equally important.

The school sets goals: focus on love, gratitude, respect, cherish, positivity, and happiness to pursue children living a fruitful life. Take action of loving and be willing to help others; following the motto of "Helping others is a key to happiness". "Being grateful for everything" with all these to enhance positive emotions, increase satisfaction, show respect and appreciation, be recognized, strengthen interpersonal relationships, accept and appreciate others. Being positive sets path for success and challenging tasks and finds ways to improve from failures. Children will be rewarded with appreciation and happiness if they work hard and succeed. Sharing joy and happiness altogether while solving problems and difficulties.

Teachers

100% Preschool teachers of Elementi Education Organization must have possessed Certificate in Kindergarten Education (CE) or ECE degree or above professional qualifications. Besides, preschool teachers should have suitable experience and acquire second language. Teachers should be amiable, loving and patient with children. They should be child-centered and be passionate with education.

Native English teachers instruct in English and with years of "English Activity Approach" experience. All teachers have passed the qualification of local Montessori teacher training courses jointly organized by Elementi Educational Organization and Hong Kong Montessori Education Society.

"Positive life with a promising future" is the focus of the teacher professional training scheme is developed in 2023. This positive education training program include 5P major areas and ten professional skills for all teachers to achieve and implement.

In 2019, the beginning of another decade, we actively practice front-line education and training, and work together to achieve the goal of sustainable development and quality of education. In this year, the school began to implement four major concerns in the school development plan:

Full implementation of Orff Approach of music education, in order to inspire children's potentials and foster children's all-round development.
To promote children's self directed learning, strengthen free game elements let children learn from the games and attain new knowledge through exploration.
Practice healthy families start with schools, while helping parents and children to build positive life attitudes.
Pay attention to the special education needs of young children. Enhance the support to children with special needs and provide more assistance to their parents.

Through the scheme of "Onsite Pre-school Rehabilitation Service Scheme" supported by professional specialist and therapist, providing comprehensive early intervention and counselling services to design corresponding targeted program for children with special education needs.

Create an enriched language environment for mastery of the Chinese language; create an inclusive learning environment to facilitate students' integration; facilitate professional development for teachers to develop effective strategies to help NCS students learn Chinese.

Montessori Teaching Method

The Montessori approach to education is based on scientifically-based observation of children, from birth through adulthood. It involves an integrated "whole child" approach to education that spans the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of the child.

Montessori is a learning philosophy that takes into consideration the whole child and the way they naturally develop. By observing all the things children were learning: communication and language, exploring the world around them, order, developing fine and gross motor control, learning practical life skills – Montessori was able to develop age-appropriate materials for children to use.

Life Education Programme

Life education is to inspire life’s wisdom, internalize life values and learn to make reflections. In addition, to grow from positive life experience, build up good characters and conducts since a very young age. To encourage growth through life education, the monthly theme of “7 Seeds” is set as the blueprint, creating good character month and applying bible stories to link up courses of various themes. Upholding the learning cultures of “acceptance”, “encouragement” and “commendation”,our “School with Good Characters Programme” is being enhanced which foster children’s thoughts and behaviours as well as their sense of values and comprising “Seeds of Life” in Christianity religious program activities as the core and foundation.

Through“School with Good Characters Programme”, we nurture children to carry out continuous self-improvement, to be filled with confidence and enable them to build up good wellness. We want children to learn how to respect and care for others, while loving themselves, loving their families as well as loving the society. From the context of daily life, we want children to value virtues and become environmentally friendly. Having children becoming proactive and with good characters; we suc-ceed in achieving the goal of having whole-person education begins with young children.

Interesting of “Music Childhood”

Through music education, children are enabled to develop happiness, self-confidence, imagination, creativity and expressiveness. It opens up full body, whole-hearted and whole-brain activities to lead children to experience literary, life, cultural, creative lifestyles and aesthetics. In the process of learning, children undergo “attempts” and “deeds” while receiving music education. It inspires children’s multiple intelligences through body percussion, dialogue, rhythm, singing, dance and instru-mental ensemble. It also includes music, art, bodily kinesthetic intelli-gence, interpersonal, language, mathematical logic, space, natural ob-servation and personal introspection, allowing students to develop vari-ous kinds of potentials.

Course objectives at all levels

The 2-6 year-old curriculum provides the direction for the design, implementation, and evaluation of the overall spiral curriculum. Develop goals at different levels, and child developmental goals are tailored to the child’s developmental abilities or characteristics.

Pre-Nursery Class (N1) Age 2-3

Cultivate curiosity, be willing to try new things, learn to listen and encourage response; also start living in groups, share with others, share items, learn basic life knowledge as well as skills and know there are different solutions to a problem.

Nursery Class (K1) Age 3-4

Cultivate the spirit of exploration and knowledge; through answering teachers’questions, they learn how to reiterate sentences, find answers voluntarily and be willing to communicate with others. Meanwhile, they will learn basic life knowledge, skills and learn how to solve problems.

Lower Class (K2) Age 4-5

Cultivate active learning, listen to other people’s opinions, learn to discuss and express their opinions, try to negotiate with others and care for others. Besides, initially grasp the basic life knowledge and skills, think about appropriate solutions, and be eager to learn.

Upper class (K3) Age 5-6

Establish the ability of independent learning and cultivate the spirit of exploring and verifying, report findings, respect other people’s opinions and be willing to share and give. Besides, learn to master basic life knowledge and skills, think about creative solutions and take responsibility.

Whole-day Child Care Service

Provide comprehensive full-day child care services for dual-working families; professionally prepare children’s full-time activities schedule and ensure children’s balanced diet. In addition, we take care of children’s development, and cultivate children’s regular individual as well as group living habits.
